Boca salada

"Boca Salada" is a novel that explores themes of uprooting, travel, friendship, and love in a context of exile that spans various Latin American lands such as Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina. Narrated by Miranda, the story is divided into tales of love, family, and memory, leading the reader along serene paths that suddenly turn into emotional abysses. The work transforms into a geography of memories where the grandmother's memories with her salty mouth, the brother's quest to change the world, the uncle exploring love in different forms, and the pursuit of an elusive yet powerful passion intertwine.

Jorge Iván Jaramillo's narrative is sensitive and painful, immersing the reader in Miranda's profound thoughts and confronting them with loss, death, and uprooting. The novel becomes a lesson in polyphony, where each voice gains its own space and perspective, while also offering a varied look at geographies, cities, streets, and loves. "Boca Salada" is the result of a deep inner exploration and purging of pains, but it also shows human resilience and survival through writing as a means to face life with attention and sensitivity.
