Development Policies, Social Cohesion, and Joint InternationalInsertion for Latin American Integration

Abstract. The aim of this book is to present policy proposals for development, social cohesion and joint international insertion that allow the reactivation of Latin American multidimensional integration, based on comparative regionalism studies of experiences in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Proposals that allow progress towards new priority activities in Latin American regional integration, by means of policies: 1) of development and social cohesion, through the establishment of agendas within the Latin American integration processes that allow the reorientation of the economic model towards sustainability, as well as the protection of the population against the risk of new pandemics, and 2) of joint international insertion of Latin America in the international system, through the consideration of proposals to improve Latin America's position in world markets for goods and services, increase the efficiency of multilateralism and global governance, and achieve common regional action to take advantage of interregionalism with integration processes and countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. In this way, Latin American integration agreements are to be promoted towards a new configuration of the dynamics of development and international insertion, through actions that can be developed in the medium term and that promote greater interaction between public and private actors prior to decision-making.
