Health, Environmental, and Technology Policy for Latin American Integration

The purpose of this book is to present health, environmental and technological policy proposals that allow the reactivation of Latin American multidimensional integration, based on comparative regionalism studies of experiences in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Proposals that allow progress towards new priority activities in Latin American regional integration, through policies: 1) sanitary, expressed in public health policies, 2) environmental, through actions aimed at accelerating compliance with international agreements and conventions signed by member countries in this area, and 3) technological, through commitments in relation to disruptive technologies of the fourth industrial revolution. Making clear the new role and greater capacity that national officials and regional integration organizations must develop in a coordinated manner to influence, impact, and define policies that restore stability to the region and improve its position in the world. In this way, it advocates consensual and multidimensional responses to the region’s problems, characterized by greater interaction between public and private actors prior to decision-making.
