Intersections: Re-existences: images to feel and think in community

This book collects a large part of the photographic archive of the PsicoPaz Research, which emerged in 2013 as part of the Boulomai Group (UCC), and reflects on accompaniment, the PsychoSocial Clinic and the community's forms of healing in the context of the armed conflict, reparation, the extractivist logic of agro-industrial megaprojects; in dialogue with critical perspectives of the social sciences, the humanities, letters and Afro-indigenous wisdom. Working with images allows other forms of expression and construction of shared knowledge that has been well received in the dialogue with peasant, Afro-indigenous and academic communities, both in Colombia and in Brazil. Over time and the experiences shared with the communities, we were able to identify that photographic work has brought us closer to the sociology of the image and everyday aesthetics. Thus, in our work, the community as an observer looks at itself in its own context and social environment; in a kind of “defamiliarization” of everyday life. This work materializes this happy encounter that combines research, art and community. Whose creative assembly opens the way to various visual narratives of a psychosocial investigation. In it we share the experiences and learning, from 2014 to 2021, with: Afro-descendant women from the North of Cauca, the ancestral territory of Montes de María, the Peasant Association of Returnees (Asocares) of Ovejas-Sucre, the San Francisco communities, Medellín, San Cristóbal, the Monroy Indigenous Reservation and San Basilio de Palenque. They are Re-existences, they are Images to feel and think in community.
