Curative Groupness: Daily, community-based, and decolonial practices

This book aims to socialize the results of the doctoral research in the Montes de María territory (Sucre and Bolívar, Colombia), whose central proposal is that the curator groupality of the communities has allowed them, on their own account and with what they have at their disposal, to keep alive their knowledge to face the pains of war. The curator groupality, as an alternative to the modern/colonial psycological perspective, is structured from the therapeutic, emancipatory and cosmological-spiritual multidimensionality. In order to trace the silence of local knowledge, the way of studying curator groupality focused on the peasant and afro-indigenous community healing practices themselves. Getting closer to the daily life of montemarian communities allowed me to identify a therapeutic potential such as group psychotherapy. The inspiration to study the curator groupality, from its practices of everyday life, communitary and decolonial, was the encounter with leaders of Asocares, peasant women of San Francisco, Medellín, Villa Colombia and the traditional Palenquero and Zenú doctors of the Montes de María. Thus, I identified three curator grupality practices: 1) mobilizing as an antibiotic to assimilate the pains of war, 2) take care and heal with plants, and 3) wakes. The curator groupality from a decolonial perspective, problematizes the knowledge of the modern/colonial cure, and proposes a field of study capable of mobilizing disciplinary implosion, interdisciplinary dialogue and transdisciplinary openness. It is configured in an urgent call for decolonization not only of Psychology and Social Sciences, but also of public policies on health, education, research and reparation. The transdisciplinary study of community healing implies an epistemological and political stance, situated in the world of life.
