Beautiful thinking from Montes de María: Epistemic-methodological inspirations for the transdisciplinary study of curative collectivity
This research text, faced with the problem of epistemic silencing, proposes a way to study the curative knowledge of the community that is still alive and as a way out not to reproduce the invalidation, expropriation, distancing, appropriation, uprooting, alienation and recolonization of knowledge. The proposal focuses on the study of what I call the curator groupality. The epistemological inspirations that guided the research and the transition towards transdisciplinarity are shared. This, from various movements and twists that configured the research methodological spiral. The epistemethodological perspective is committed to the agency of the communities. There are different ways of going through the painful history of violence and the armed conflict in Montes de María; different ways of understanding communities; from the affectations and victimization; or from a perspective that assumes them as vulnerable populations under the siege of the actors and historical circumstances. We are facing resilient communities capable of facing the ravages of inclement weather, water scarcity and the pains of war. Walking alongside the peasantry allows us to honor their strength and memory, as well as that of their and our afro-indigenous ancestor. In this sense, the proposal of this research warns about the resistance that rural communities manage to self-manage to stay on their feet. Faced with the forms of continuous violence due to the armed conflict or the exploitation of natural resources. But while a series of adverse and painful conditions persist for these communities, some practices to heal also remain. Therefore, the form of writing of the text privileged the voice of those who participated in the research and to whom I owe my main source of inspiration: peasant women, girls, boys, peasant leaders and traditional doctors of the territory.
