The social and solidarity economy: Valid proposal in the territories

What are the real, lived, legal, possible, and imagined territories? How are these spaces dreamed up by the social and solidarity economy constructed to enable us to achieve a good life? These questions form the basis of this book, which aims to understand the relationship between theory and practice of the solidarity economy in Latin America and Colombia. Our analysis has allowed us to understand that territory is a space of power and a social construct where different ideas and ideals overlap and are in dispute. From there, we have conducted a historical and documentary examination of the evolution of theory and its application, which shows us that there is no single way of doing or thinking that can guarantee the necessary transformations to achieve a good life. Contrary to this, what we have found is the reaffirmation of the heterogeneity and multiplicity of conditions that determine the ways in which different ideas of territory, quality of life, dwelling, or the common good can be constructed. This book is an invitation to think about these differences and to construct from them.
