Factors determining the process of creation and consolidation of companies: A social and economic perspective of entrepreneurship
This text is the result of an investigation carried out in the city of Medellín on the factors that influence the creation and consolidation of a company. The results presented here are intended to encourage entrepreneurs to continue with their business life project and institutions and the State to support the strengthening of business creation and consolidation programs. Entrepreneurship has been established in recent times as a viable alternative for the development and economic and social growth of the regions, so the interest of studying those factors that have more relevance in the creation and consolidation of a company. Although the study focused on the context of the city of Medellín, the results presented may serve as a basis for strengthening entrepreneurship programs in other national, regional and international contexts, through the channeling of better efforts and resources so that the process of creation and consolidation of companies is better adjusted to the social, economic and cultural characteristics of each particular locality. The text is developed in five themes that are presented in five chapters that are respectively cases of entrepreneurship, conceptual aspects of the business creation process, statistical results of business creation, conceptual aspects of the business consolidation process and factor results of business consolidation. The conclusions and recommendations are presented in the final part of the text. As a contribution and conclusion, the relevant factors in the creation of companies are contacts, education, capital and negotiation capacity. As regards the consolidation of companies, the most relevant factors are risk, perseverance, strategy, personnel and growth.
