Know the conflict to build the post-conflict

According to the Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica (CNMH), Meta has been one of the departments most affected by violence in Colombia, for this reason it is a common location for the study of the Colombian armed conflict. The research covered in this book makes a multidisciplinary approach to Colombian armed conflict, while presenting a strategy of generating social and economic value; supported by the proposal of a new paradigm that seeks to understand those who have grown up in the middle of the armed conflict, a paradigm that is built by integrating the theoretical foundations of biopolitics, with resilience and social responsibility as necessary elements to face the challenges of incorporating into the person a culture of respect, in which violence is not necessary to survive. Consequently, and considering a history of violence that has affected more than three generations, perpetuating a social and armed conflict that has directly and indirectly impacted the civilian population, the academy has an opportunity to contribute from and, through a multidisciplinary approach, help to the Colombian armed conflict from the perspective of the actors, in such a way as to open the road for the civilian population to provide the long-awaited peace.

This required the construction and progress of a research project, that with a holistic approach, explores the perception that the actors of the conflict represented by the voices of ex-soldiers, ex-combatants groups outside the law, displaced persons, victims and inhabitants of the region, who wanted to contribute by sharing their life stories based on the topics proposed in semi-structured interview. This book is the result of the comprehensive analysis of the stories shared and presented by the different actors of the conflict, and which permit us the requirements for the theoretical discussion necessary to consolidate a new manner of understanding the individual who has grown up in the midst of armed conflict, in order to contribute to the construction of a new social value that allows to build a scenario of respect and peaceful coexistence.
